A few years back, the Starwood hotel group (which owns the Westin and Sheraton chains, among others) opened a new type of hotel in Cleveland. It’s called Aloft. Aloft hotels are designed to be modern and comfortable, with bold colors and sleek wood. They are generally located in downtown areas (like Cleveland), but they’re also located near college campuses. The best part of it all? They are very affordable.

According to a Marriott hotel in downtown Cleveland, Ohio, they have a dog park on the first floor. Dog owners are happy to take their dogs into this unique space, where they can socialize with other canines and people. The hotel also has a yoga studio on the second floor, a sun lounge on the roof, and a fitness center for guests to use.
The Alex Theater and the Vault bar are also on site. The theater features live music and was once a vaudeville house. The theater is decorated with a touch of bling and has a view of the ballgame at Progressive Field or the downtown Cleveland theater district, Lake Erie, or all of that.

6. Hyatt Regency at the Arcade
This luxury hotel is not in an arcade. The name actually refers to the gorgeous 19th-century atrium at its center. Stay here and you’ll be right next door to the East Fourth Street entertainment district, where you’ll find a strip of great restaurants.
I stayed at the hotel where I ate at 1890 Restaurant, which serves local food overlooking the atrium. The rooms are chic and calm, with views of the city, lake or sports stadium. There is also a spa and a 24-hour fitness center.
7. Hilton Cleveland Downtown
Why go through a long commute to the convention centre? Just stay at this hotel – it’s connected to the convention centre by a walkway.
It’s easy to walk to all the attractions in Downtown and your room will have the best view. The higher your bed, the higher the price. If you can’t afford it, go to the bar on the top floor for a drink. It’s the highest point so you get the best view of the city.
The luxury apartment complex has a pool and fitness center for residents to use. It also has the Burnham Restaurant, which serves delicious Ohio produce.
8. Crowne Plaza Cleveland
This Crowne Plaza hotel is in the heart of downtown Cleveland’s theater district. The rooms are simple but you won’t spend much time in yours. This is the very heart of Cleveland’s theater district, hosting nine theaters within a quarter mile of the hotel. The theater district is said to be the largest in America outside of New York City.
The hotel has a heated pool and Jacuzzi, a fitness center, and a restaurant that serves both classic dishes like burgers and flatbreads as well as more adventurous offerings such as lobster nachos and pierogis.
9. The Westin Cleveland Downtown
The Westin hotel is a four-star hotel located in the center of the city. It’s in walking distance of the Playhouse Square and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

There is no shortage of colors, which makes the rooms more interesting than many hotels’ typical bland bedrooms.

The Schofield hotel is housed in a Victorian-era building designed by architect Levi Schofield. The numerous plants scattered around the property are a homage to Schofield’s involvement in the creation of the Museum of Natural History.
